Finance & Compliance

Working out what you actually earned — settlement reconciliation, fee auditing, SKU-level profitability, and the statutory filing that marketplace selling generates.

Beat 01 · The problem

Revenue is easy to see. Profit is not

  • Settlement reports are filed, not reconciled
  • Fee changes and dimension re-measurements go unnoticed for months
  • Returns, reimbursements and adjustments are never traced back to SKUs
  • Nobody can say which products actually make money after every deduction
  • Statutory filing is assembled from scratch under deadline pressure

Most marketplace businesses discover their least profitable SKU is one they have been advertising hardest — usually a year later than they should have.

Beat 03 · Execution

How the work actually runs

  1. Cost model construction

Landed cost, marketplace fees, fulfilment, storage, returns and advertising are assembled per SKU. Everything downstream — pricing, advertising, assortment — depends on this being right.

  2. Settlement reconciliation

Each settlement is reconciled line by line against expected fees and orders. Discrepancies are raised as claims rather than absorbed as noise.

  3. Fee and leakage audit

Fee changes, dimension re-measurements, unreturned refunds and lost or damaged inventory are checked for and claimed where eligible.

  4. Profitability review

SKU-level margin is reviewed with the growth and operations leads, so advertising and assortment decisions are made against profit rather than revenue.
